HANCEVILLE -- Shoals Christian's boys trailed Marion County 36-21 at halftime this afternoon in their Class 1A semifinal at the Northwest Regional basketball tournament.
The Flame (15-13) fell behind 20-10 after one quarter but pulled within 20-17 after a Tanner Traglia 3-pointer with 5:22 left in the second quarter.
From there, Marion County (24-6), an athletic team playing at a quick tempo, closed the half on a 16-4 run.
Traglia's five points lead the Flame, which has 11 turnovers to Marion County's three.
Ready Swanigan leads all scorers with 15 points to go with nine rebounds for Marion County.
Shoals Christian has 22 rebounds to Marion County's 19, but 10 of the Raiders' have come on the offensive end and they are out-scoring the Flame 15-4 on second-chance points.
