GULF SHORES — Shoals rockers Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit are a part of the lineup for the 2013 Hangout Music Festival, joining such acts as the Trey Anastasio Band, The Black Crowes and headliners Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and Kings of Leon.

The festival takes place May 17-19 on the sandy beaches of Gulf Shores.

General admission tickets and VIP packages go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Isbell grew up in Greenhill but recently relocated to Nashville. Jimbo Hart, the band’s bassist, and drummer Chad Gamble reside in the Shoals.

Also appearing at the festival are reggae legends Toots and the Maytals, The Shins, Gov’t Mule, Bassnectar, The Roots, the Jim James Band, Moon Taxi, The Sheepdogs, Ryan Bingham, Public Enemy, Slightly Stoopid and Kendrick Lamar. A third headliner will be announced shortly, according to festival organizers.

The festival takes place across five stages, two located directly on the beach.
