Shoals warm and friendly

I have just returned from a trip to the north Alabama area and feel compelled to write and tell you of my experience.

Some of you may recall the last time I did this back in 2006 before moving back to my beloved second home of Anchorage, Alaska. In that letter I had high praise for the area and its people. I am happy to report that not much has changed. I was pleasantly welcomed by all the people I encountered including many “yes sirs” from young people. You are doing a good job of teaching your children proper manners and respect.

To truly appreciate what a great place you live in I encourage you to go away for a while as I have.

When you return you will notice more and more what you take for granted.

Sunny 75 degree days and cool nights were perfect for this Alaskan transplant and your people were just as warm and friendly as before. I look forward to another visit in the near future and am secure in the knowledge that nothing much will have changed, and that is just fine by me. You should count yourselves lucky to have such a nice place to live.
