Single by Alabama Shakes on the silver screen

“Silver Linings Playbook,” a movie opening in theaters nationwide on Nov. 21, will include “Always Alright” by the Alabama Shakes.

The 14-song soundtrack features jazz from The Dave Brubeck Quartet, a Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash duet, R&B from Stevie Wonder and Americana-roots-soul from Alabama Shakes.

In the past year, the band with Athens roots has appeared on “Conan,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

In September, vocalist Brittany Howard, drummer Steve Johnson, guitarist Heath Fogg, bass guitarist Zac Cockrell and drummer Steve Johnson won the Americana Music Awards Emerging Artist of the Year.

A romantic comedy, “Silver Linings Playbook” will star Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Jacki Weaver and Robert De Niro. The soundtrack will be available Nov. 19.
