A recent letter to the editor is a prime example of what is wrong with the Republican Party. Their bullying started in the mid-1990s with Rush Limbaugh. It boils down to “don’t tell me any truths, I can make my own.” Such as no global warming and a woman is not truly raped if she gets pregnant from the encounter.
When someone makes a statement they don’t want to hear, they resort to bullying. Trying to stop you, trying to out yell you, or insulting you. They only believe in their own free speech, not yours.
They try to bully radio stations, newspapers, churches and anyone they come into contact with to try to get everything that is said, written, or talked about to be just what they want to hear.
If they can’t justify their position with true facts they just make up some baloney and try to browbeat you into repeating it. I can show you a Sunday school class, of elderly men and women, who are gossiping that Democrats are buying votes by giving everyone who votes for President Obama an iPad. If your gossip is not true, it is a lie. They just giggle and say it’s for a good cause.
I suppose the letter writer wants a Cal Thomas article on every page. Sometimes I hold my nose and read a Thomas article. One must know what the dummies are doing in order to protect yourself from them.
I certainly don’t agree with all your editorials, but I read them and want you to keep it up.
