The skinny: Russellville is riding a five-game winning streak, while McAdory is one of two remaining undefeated teams in 5A and is 11-0 for the first time in school history. ... Russellville stomped Etowah 49-6 in last week’s playoff opener, its defense getting five takeaways. The Golden Tigers have forced 15 turnovers combined in their last three games. ... RB Tyler Boyd has rushed for 1,321 yards and 17 TDs. ... LB Logan Ezzell has a team-high 141 tackles, 6 TFL and 2 sacks. ... The Yellow Jackets beat Mortimer Jordan 21-13 last week. They are allowing 11 ppg and run a kind of Wing-T/spread hybrid offense and try to use their speed to get to the edge. ... McAdory has plenty of depth at running back, including juniors Garian Bradley (6-0, 230) and Justin Mabry (5-10, 170). ... The winner faces the Cullman-Walker winner next week in the quarterfinals.

playoff opener last week. Munford has won five straight and beat Fairview 41-27 last week. ... The two teams share some traits. Brooks is scoring 43.7 ppg while allowing 25.4 ppg. Similarly, Munford is scoring 30.4 ppg and allowing 25.4 ppg. ... Brooks QB Skyler Beck has completed 79 percent of his passes for 2,066 yards and 26 TDs while throwing four interceptions this season. ... The winner plays the Madison County-Lincoln winner next week in the quarterfinals.

Class 3A

Piedmont (11-0) at Deshler (8-3)

The skinny: Top-ranked Piedmont is one of two remaining undefeated teams in 3A. The Bulldogs won their playoff opener 41-6 over J.B. Pennington last week. ... Deshler has won seven-straight and beat Hanceville 42-21 last week. The Tigers have scored an average of 52.6 ppg during their current winning streak after averaging 20.5 ppg while starting the season 1-3. ... Darnell Jackson (663 yards, 8 TDs), Dreek Thompson (643, 13 TDs) and Sarandon Dunbar (582 yards, 3 TDs) lead Piedmont in rushing. The Bulldogs only losses were to 2A No. 2 Fyffe in Week 1 and 4A Sardis in Week 5. ... Lauderdale County is allowing 10.9 ppg while Geraldine is allowing 15.3 ppg. ... The winner plays the Deshler-Piedmont winner in the quarterfinals next week.

Sylvania (9-2)

at Colbert County (7-4)

The skinny: Fresh after knocking off previously undefeated Hamilton in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs, Colbert County returns home to face Sylvania, which was the third-place finisher in Region 6. ... The Rams are undefeated on the road this season, including a 13-10 victory over Saks in their first-round playoff game last week. Sylvania’s defense has played very well in the past month, allowing a total of 20 points in its last four victories. But Colbert County’s offense has been just as good the past two weeks, putting up 49 points against Brooks before posting 42 against Hamilton. ... Ryan Carpenter rushed for 254 yards and three touchdowns in the 42-21 victory over the Aggies.

Class 2A

Reeltown (10-1) at Sheffield (6-5)

The skinny: One week after an impressive road victory over North Sand Mountain, Sheffield will face a tough task when the Bulldogs host Class 2A, Region 5 champions Reeltown. ... Since losing their season opener to Class 4A Dadeville, the Rebels have won 10 in a row, including last week’s 34-8 first-round playoff win over Vincent. ... Reeltown’s defense has allowed 15 points or less in its last eight games, including two shutouts. ... Since dropping three consecutive games in the middle of the season, Sheffield has won three of its last four. ... The Bulldogs had 308 rushing yards in last week’s 44-22 win, with Matthew Boutwell rushing for 140 and two touchdowns.

Red Bay (8-3) at Woodland (9-2)

The skinny: Both Woodland and Red Bay had major scares in its first round playoff games. Woodland escaped with a 22-21 win over Randolph County while Red Bay overcame three turnovers deep in its own territory to defeat Westbrook Christian 14-7. The Tigers defense played very well last week, holding pass happy Westbrook Christian to just 115 passing yards on 27 attempts, and preserved the win with an interception in the final minutes. ... Woodland’s offense has been prolific most of the season, averaging 41 points per game in its nine wins. But the Bobcats have lived dangerously this year, winning three games by two points or less.

Class 1A

Marion County (10-1)

at R.A. Hubbard (7-4)

The skinny: R.A. Hubbard squeaked out an 18-15 road victory over Collinsville in the first round of the playoffs last week, but now the Chiefs will take on an angry Marion County team in round

two. ... One week after losing its No. 1 ranking with a shocking 21-17 loss to Red Bay, the Red Raiders took out their frustration on first-round playoff opponent Meek, blasting the Tigers 83-6. ... Other than the 17 points it scored against Red Bay, Marion County has not scored less than 38 in any other game, and has scored more than 50 in six games. ... John Owens leads R.A. Hubbard’s offensive attack. He rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s win.

Hackleburg (10-1) at Berry (7-4)

The skinny: Hackleburg cruised in its playoff opener with a 66-42 victory over Donoho. ... Quarterback Dylan Gallaway accounted for six touchdowns in last week’s win for the Panthers. Gallaway completed 10 of 14 passes for 183 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 163 yards on seven carries with two touchdowns. His TD passes were 20, 27, 44 and 11 yards and his rushing TDs were 35 and 44 yards. ... The Panthers have now won 10 in a row since losing to Marion County in their season opener. ... Tailback Kristian Jones is averaging 8.67 yards per carry with 1,327 yards on 153 carries. ... Berry opened the playoffs with a 28-8 victory over Addison ... Berry’s Terrance Hollingsworth scored three touchdowns in the win for Berry. Hollingsworth scored on a 70-yard interception return, a 77-yard touchdown run and a 3-yard touchdown pass. He finished with 169 yards on 22 carries and added eight tackles. ... Hackleburg holds a 9-4 lead in the overall series, including a 35-24 victory in the last meeting in 2009.

TENNESSEE

Nashville Christian (10-2)

at Collinwood (9-2)

The skinny: Collinwood opened the playoffs last week with a 14-12 victory over Jo Byrns. Quarterback Logan Montgomery scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 38-yard run in the second quarter and the Trojans held on for the victory. ... Montgomery finished with 103 yards rushing last week and now has 1,025 yards rushing and 1,407 yards passing. ... Junior Peyton Risner has over 1,000 yards of total offense for Collinwood with 433 yards rushing and 599 receiving. Risner also has intercepted 11 passes. ... Senior Briar Daniel leads the Collinwood defense with 81 tackles and 6.5 sacks. ... Nashville Christian advanced to the quarterfinals with a 24-0 victory over Clarksville Academy. ... Senior Phillip Booker led the Eagles with 168 yards rushing in the win. Booker has 1,542 yards rushing on 179 carries with 25 touchdowns.

Loretto (8-3) at Adamsville (10-1)

The skinny: Loretto advanced to the Class A quarterfinals last week with a 21-7 victory over Whitehouse-Heritage. ... Timothy Brown rushed for 167 yards on 16 carries to lead the Mustangs. Brown had scoring runs of 24 and 19 yards. ... The Mustangs are expected to be without quarterback Matt Rosson this week after he suffered a broken wrist in last week’s game. ... Adamsville returned from a two-week layoff to pound Mount Pleasant 56-6 in last week’s second-round game. ... The Cardinals forced four turnovers, including an interception return for a touchdown, and blocked a punt in last week’s victory. ... Adamsville is led by junior running back Zak Neary, who has rushed for 908 yards and 11 TDs this season. ... The Cardinals have won 10 in a row since losing their season opener to Chester County.
