UNA newspaper, yearbook honored

FLORENCE — The University of North Alabama student newspaper, The Flor-Ala, and student yearbook, the Diorama, were both awarded best-in-show awards at the National College Media Convention.

The Diorama placed fourth among yearbooks with fewer than 300 pages and The Flor-Ala placed 10th among four-year institutions with weekly tabloid publication. The awards were given during the convention that is sponsored by Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Association in Chicago.

The National College Media Convention is the largest gathering of student journalists in the world, according to a university release
