When I read your editorial “Privileged prospective,” I was wondering where do you live. Surely not in the Shoals. You down Mitt Romney for telling a truth.

Apparently you do not get out much or surely do not participate in local outreach. If you did, then you would understand what Romney was referring to. Because about 25 percent of his 47 percent fall into the true government dole.

There is no problem understanding his logic. There are those who work and pay taxes and there are those who enjoy being called poor and underprivileged and consume those taxes. Don’t know about you but I certainly have had to work for everything in this life. Didn’t have a lot growing up but opportunity, which was there for the earning.

Then the next day I read your editorial “Accepting responsibility.” I first thought wow! Is this the TimesDaily in Florence? Yesterday it bashed Romney for saying that folks are irresponsible. The paper that supports everything that is irresponsible? Irresponsible sex, have an abortion, “womens rights” or have taxpayers pay for contraception with Obamacare.

Illegal as in immigrant, how can we be so cruel as to ask someone to be a legal citizen that the taxpaying citizens will not have to support through government programs?

Do you support removing God from everything we do? How can you possibly get upset with the people of Alabama for being overweight when all you promote is “If it don’t feel good” then it is wrong and against the poor?
