Just read about the U.S. Postal Service plans to stop Saturday mail delivery. Also, about how many billions per year it would save by starting in August.
If that much could be saved per year, it would appear about half that much more could be saved by starting the first of March instead of waiting until August.
Yes, it is somewhat sad about the situation with the post office. However, I understand that employment with the mail box manufacturers is expected to boom, helping to reduce unemployment.
They realize that with delivery of mail only five days instead of six, there's no way our present mail boxes could hold all the flyers, ads and junk mail we get every week, so they know we will have to have larger mail boxes.
