A winter weather advisory is no longer in effect for northwest Alabama.
Forecasters predict increasing clouds and highs in the low 40s across the Tennessee Valley through the afternoon.
The temperature at 9 a.m. was 30 degrees at the National Weather Service's Huntsville office, and there were reports of ice forming on some overpasses and other elevated roadways in north Alabama.
