You Said It

“Now that the election is over, it’s time for the candidates and all their rabid supporters to pick up the signs littering our highways.”

“When will middle class citizens of Alabama and all the other red states learn that listening to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh is a brainwashing and it’s bad for your health in every way?”

“Just think how many teachers, policemen, firefighters and nurses could have been hired or how many smart, young people could have been educated with the $300 million wasted by the Super Pacs house ad.”

“I’m sorry to interrupt the fantasy with reality, but I was raised in a union household and in the ’50s and ’60s we saw the rich union bosses help train the Japanese and Korean engineers that took the steel industry across the Pacific. Unions, ha! What a joke.”

“President Obama, close the post office, sell the routes to private carriers and then maybe those of, at least some of us, in north Florence would get our mail before dark:30.”

“Republicans lost the election because of their holier-than-thou attitudes, touting their values. I haven’t seen any of their values displayed, only lies, propaganda and judgment on anyone else who did not believe as they do.”

“I’m so glad the White House can’t be bought for $990 million worth of advertisement for the Republicans.”

“In 1994, we had an ice storm that had a lot of people without power in all the Quad-Cities area. The thing you have to do is wait until they can get to where they can get the most people online first. Plus, they have to put up new poles and sometimes new power lines. This can’t be done in an hour. This takes hours. And, so, unless you’re on the main line you’ve got to wait longer than the people on the main line. People don’t understand that ...”

“In all due respect to Mayor Sanford and the Sheffield City Council, please explain the changes in Sheffield utilities. A retired or fired TVA employee does not need a job, a young person does.”

“Do we really need a new freshman center? Or, while these interest rates are so low, why don’t we just borrow some money and give the teachers all a raise?”

“How much longer are the American people going to have to pay for these criminals like the one that shot Gabby Gifford? Keeping them in jail for the rest of their lives, feeding them, giving them TV, giving them clothes, giving them medical care? We could stop some of that foolishness by killing these people.”

“Just to make a comment about handicapped parking spaces ... when you pull in, get out, run in and come back out running or walking fast, that’s pathetic. It’s just pathetic”

“How can a stolen credit card be used if merchants check for ID? I always thank the cashier for asking for a picture identification. I appreciate the extra work.”
