“I noticed the question arises again about the Republican momentum in Alabama, about what to do. And, I don’t know. I don’t know of many states where the uninformed, the uneducated, the toothless and the uninsured cheer on millionaires and billionaires like they do here in Alabama. Eventually, maybe time will tell.”
“To the person in You Said It saying to send Republicans home for a year or six months without pay, without insurance ... if they’re going to do that, they need to send Obama home for about four years without a check or insurance. My insurance is double since Obama has been president.”
“Maybe the young men that knocked down and damaged 14 mailboxes last Friday night need a job. They should be made to purchase mailboxes, dig holes and cement the box post into the ground. Then, they may think twice before they do this again. Something needs to be done about people who destroy other people’s property.”
“I have a question. I’m a newcomer in this area and I understand Muscle Shoals is the smallest city of the four towns — two miles square. They have an awful large police force. I wonder why there’s so many robberies out there, businesses, people’s stuff being stolen at Wal-Mart and different stores around there, and even breaking into homes. Looks like with that big of police force, that they could at least enforce law in two-mile square ...”
“Imagine yourself getting a job where you only work 139 days a year and after one term, which is two or four years, you get retirement for life, all your insurance for life and all your expenses for life. Isn’t that something? That’s what our Congress does to us — 139 days a year, that’s all they work.”
“The purpose of the Second Amendment is not to allow hunting. It is to provide defense against tyranny.”
“It’s disappointing that the TimesDaily gave no coverage to the swearing in of our probate judge, Daniel Rosser, on Sunday afternoon in a ceremony at the Colbert County Courthouse. Colbert County deserves better than this, as does Judge Rosser. Shame on the TimesDaily.”
“Somebody please tell these smart-aleck TV reporters to keep their mouths shut so we can see what’s going on, on television on this inauguration.”
“What an insult to the state of Tennessee, Sen. Lamar Alexander a part of the inauguration committee, Shame on Tennessee.”
“Whoever made the remark of quit selling liquor, having liquor stores, they must be wanting the bootleggers to make the money and not even get the tax money off of the liquor from the liquor stores. I’ve never heard of such.”
“Well, Mitt Romney is not in Washington. Who gives a cuss?”
“I must say, it’s time for the quack cartoon character, Mallard Fillmore, to be axed and devoured with wild rice and a good glass of wine for dinner.”
“The Democrats are baby killers.”
“I don’t think that the judges of Florence are doing their job when they let drug addicts and thieves and people that break and enter and all this over a period of years, and they never give any time. I think that’s wrong. Why do they not help put the criminals away and get them off the streets instead of keep coddling them and allowing them more and more and more? My son did little of nothing when he was about 17 years old and had to serve nine months. This doesn’t make sense to me. Why in the world judges are just slapping them on the wrist and letting them go free when my son wasn’t even on drugs. He was just a child. So, what’s going on in Florence?”
“I feel the justice system is failing very badly. Watching the news Monday night, a girl and a man in Huntsville killed a guy and dumped his body on the side of the road. They got a $50,000 bond. You get caught with two pills or a bag of pot, you get a $150,000 bond. What is wrong with the justice system?”
“Mr. Boehner, speaker of the house, I hope you’ve got your armor on because hell is coming after you and Obama is leading the pack. America, our best days are gone. You better wake up before it’s completely gone. The older people, the older generation, realizes what America is made of. The younger generation is walking right behind the Pied Piper. God help us.”
“I would like for somebody to tell me is it against the law to shoot firecrackers? My neighbor’s dog was barking the other night and I shot a firecracker. My little neighbor across the road called the cops, thought I was shooting a gun. They sent out two county cops and a state trooper. Now somebody tell me what’s wrong with that. If it ain’t against the dogs barking, it ain’t against somebody shooting firecrackers.”
“Last weekend, three gun shows in three different states had gun accidents that injured people, and these people know how to handle guns. Are you sure you want guns in your child’s classroom?”
“I’ve been thinking the same thing about that visitor center at McFarland Park. No way they could fix it without being flooded. It’s been flooded years ago, and still is. Even though they build a building up on a hill, they couldn’t get to it for several days. Why have one built there and spend all the money that they can’t get to during the water?”
“I am so supportive of the agenda that President Obama has laid out. It was overdue. It was timely, and it’s progressive. And that’s where this generation has to go, or generation to come.”
“I just heard a Fox newscaster on a local radio station use the term “entitlement spending” with regards to President Obama’s second inauguration and term. With inflammatory rhetoric like that, I paid into Social Security and Medicare for 45 years. You’re right, I’m entitled. It’s my money, OK?”
“Could one of the reporters find out why there’s not a Volkswagen/Audi car dealership located somewhere in Florence or the Quad Cities? They’re good cars and looks like there’d be somebody over here trying to sell them.”
“Colbert County Courthouse employees are the most rude, most ill-informed employees in the whole county. Lauderdale County just blows them away. They’re so helpful and friendly.”
“Should all women and children be asked by their doctor or hospital nurse about abuse? I say maybe, but they should be asked in complete privacy — not with husbands or anyone else present. If anyone is present, the person asked may not answer truthfully.”
“The communist is coming through loud and clear. Are you listening?”
