“All the president is going to do is fly around in Air Force One with three fighter jets following him to protect him, go from state to state and make speeches. He’s not the least bit concerned about spending and he’s not going to cut nothing. It’s just a ploy to make the Republicans give him more money. He’s not going to cut a bunch of people out of jobs because he’s got trouble there.”
“I don’t know what’s really caused all the violence in America — between children, even — but I do know one thing. A lot of it is what’s shown on TV and the theaters. Both of my boys had BB guns ... but, they both had toy guns. That was the thing then. Of course, this was a number of years ago. Now parents don’t teach their children. They don’t believe in spanking their children lightly. ... Parents, you are neglecting your children and that what’s part of what is wrong with America. You don’t do your job.”
There’s only two things that’s going to happen in these new gun laws. The gun makers are going to make tons of money and people who never had guns before are going to go buy guns and accidently shoot themselves or other people. There’s no good in the laws being overturned, but the only good thing is the arms dealers are making money. They’re getting rich. They’re probably the ones that started all this.
“Bob Grisham should never be allowed near a school or near a playground. You all wonder why students bring acts of violence into the schools.”
“I listened to Obama’s speech Tuesday night. At the end he said he wanted the minimum wage raised to $9 an hour. I hope he gets that done because I have grandchildren that are struggling to make a living and have a family. There’s a lot of these single mothers that have children that could use it. ... the Republicans will probably fight it like they do everything else. This is for the working man. They don’t realize that the working man is the one that pays their high-price salary in Washington to get up there and make a fool of themselves. I hope that this is one promise he can keep.”
“I’d like to thank the coach at Rogersville for his comments and remarks that he made. Because of him, all the rest of the teachers in the county have to spend half a day getting sensitivity training. He needs to learn how to keep his remarks to himself.”
