You Said It

“Gas has gone up 30 cents in one week. If anybody out there knows why, I would like to know why it goes up 30 cents one week, and if it goes down, it goes down a penny at a time.”

“I think it’s really funny that you have pictures of Mr. Obama teasing little children. You know, now with the number of drone strikes in Pakistan - he’s authorized nearly 200 - and the civilian death rate per drone strike is about 36. That’s a whole lot of children that he’s killed. A lot more than the millions of civilian-owned military style rifles in this country. You need to wake up, TimesDaily.

“Someone called into You Said It regarding President Obama’s urging early education and said as usual President Obama didn’t get it. Well, as usual, people in Alabama hear what they want to. President Obama, probably 60-75 percent of his speech on early education has addressed a steady home, a stable home, a father and a mother. In fact, he even reflected he wished his dad had of been there. So, get the prejudice out of your ears and maybe you can tune in a little closer.”

“Wake up, Tennessee Valley. If Georgia succeeds in taking water from the Tennessee River, the Tennessee Valley will dry up. Even now, electrical power generation has to be curtailed when drought conditions exist. With Georgia taking water from our Tennessee River, the beautiful Tennessee Valley will no longer exist. Please call your congressman.”

“Citizens of Florence, if you own a pet — dog, cat or etc. — you are responsible for those pets and you should be aware of the city ordinances pertaining to those pets. There is a leash law in the city and there is a barking dog ordinance. If you have a pet and they have caused damage to your neighbor’s property, caused a nuisance or disturbance and you’ve been made aware of that, not only by your neighbors but animal control, then you need to step up and take care of it. You need to use some common courtesy and common sense and take responsibility for your pets. If you refuse to do this, the city should have the right to take those pets away from you.”

“I am calling in response to the comment in You Said It about the bureaucracy in Obama’s state of confusion. I just wanted to echo those comments and say rock on, brother, because he’s not only destroying the United States of America, in my personal opinion, the dude has succeeded in destroying my country that I love so much.”

“Banks that were bailed out by taxpayers’ money are now refusing to refinance low income loans to homeowners who have never missed a payment. Due to greed, the bankers won’t slash or waive higher interest rates. The Republicans have a problem with Democrats’ efforts to the homeowners overcome the banks’ greed.”

“Do you ever wonder why some people are always late for work or school or church? Maybe they’re not showing respect, they’re so disrespectful.”

“I’m just curious. I wonder if RegionalCare asked Helen Keller’s permission before they picked their CEO. You know, after all, in Lauderdale County we can’t go to the bathroom without checking with Helen Keller.”

“These dumbbells talking about how to keep your personal life off of Facebook and Twitter and so on. Simple. Don’t ever put it on there.”

“I’ve got an idea that would make our nation better. We could send our ACLU lawyers to EPA. We could send all of them to where they’re most needed - Russia, China, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan. That’s where they’re needed most of all. Our nation needs to prosper and we need to get these two out of our system.”

“I just want to thank the person who called in and gave me permission, that if I go to Keller hospital and I need another doctor to go to Huntsville. I appreciate you telling me I can do that and I have done that and I will do that again. When Keller doesn’t have what I need, then I go to Huntsville or Birmingham. I won’t go to ECM or Regional or whatever you want to call it ...”

“Those people who have been complaining about new cars and trucks not having daytime running lights, saying that they can’t see the cars, if they can’t see things as big as a car, they need to quit driving.”

“Regarding Bobby Denton’s letter in the newspaper Monday about daytime running lights, if people can’t figure out how to use a turn signal, I don’t know how daytime running lights are going to help. I guess it will just make it more visible when people pull right out in front of you or, you know, take a sudden sharp turn to the left or right without getting on you. I think we need to master the turn signal before we worry about daytime running lights.”

“I think it would be a good idea if President Obama would stay out of Air Force One and stay in Washington, D.C., and take care of our business. We wouldn’t be in this mess.”

“Since Obama is so concerned about our pre-school children, I wonder if he realized that we put all this money into Big Bird. I thought Big Bird was going to teach them ABCs, 123s and the basics. And, by the way, I don’t think he’s really concerned anyway. He spent several million dollars to take a golf lesson this weekend and shoot while she went skiing with our money.”
