  • “Why, oh why, is the Florence-Lauderdale Tourist Visitor Center being built at McFarland Park where there is a flooding problem? Someone please find the answer before all the money is spent to build a new building that we can’t get to because of the flooding.”

  • “First snowfall of the year and probably the last. What child doesn’t want to go play in it? Well, Brick-Hatton kindergarten got to go play in it, except for a chosen few. My grandchild had to sit in a classroom because she was talking. Crying so hard, she had to be carried in her house. Come on, what kindergartner doesn’t want to talk? I think this is really biased and something needs to be done about it. Oh, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.”

  • “I was just watching Ed on ‘The Ed Show’ and he showed a clip where Sean Hannity said that the so-called health care law is unconstitutional, Now Ed says that is dangerous rhetoric. Oh, so the First Amendment and the Second Amendment are under attack now. I think it’s dangerous when we don’t have a right to speak.”

  • “I just noticed a big picture of Jeff Sessions and the thoughts of the insights of Sessions. Come on, that’s like saying the thoughts and parables of PeeWee Herman.”

  • “To the man who called in here a while back about Muscle Shoals not helping with the funeral procession, ought to know they don’t do anything because you never read anything about an arrest or anything goes on in Muscle Shoals. All they do is sit in restaurants.”

  • “I know a girl who draws a check. She was diagnosed with ADD, but now she doesn’t have to work. It’s why a third of everything I make goes to pay for deadbeats.”

  • “Four famous athletes have fallen off their pedestals. The whole world knows what kind of people they are. The world needs to know also the names of those who gave them the enchanted drugs.”

  • “The Democratic Party is dead. They’ve all turned communist.”

  • “Twenty-three executive orders on gun laws? Who does he think he is, a king? You can’t make law. It’s unconstitutional to do it like that.”

  • “Thank you to the letter writer for your letter to the editor in Friday’s paper. It was sensible, sane and logical. There are many of us out here who 100 percent agree with you.”

  • “I register every year with the Federal Trade Commission’s Do Not Call List, and get calls constantly from several credit card companies - sometimes two or three times a day on my cellphone and home phone. So, I guess the Federal Trade Commission does not know my phone number. So I just called them over 100 times in the past hour to let them know both my home phone number and cellphone number. Everybody out there, do the same thing because they can’t stop these people. You need to let them know your number.”
