“The caller that keeps talking about rich Republicans makes me sad. That’s not the way it works. I started as a poor Democrat. I worked hard. I gave up the lie that people are going to give me something. I got education. I did good. And, then one day, I realized that I didn’t leave the Democrats — they left me. That’s sad. That is really sad.”
“I notice they are putting the lights on the road leading to the Singing River Bridge. I’m just wondering why we couldn’t get some lights out on the west end of Cox Creek Parkway. It would be good if we could.”
“Mayor Mickey Haddock said the $4 increase on garbage rate was necessary. Well, Mr. Haddock don’t struggle like a lot of the people in this county do, paying their light bill, buying groceries. So, $4 a month is not much to Mr. Haddock, but it means a lot to people that’s struggling to pay their light bill and their rent and their groceries. So, Mr. Haddock, I hope you sleep well at night.”
“Does the current education bill passed by Alabama Legislature mean that children who are currently enrolled in schools like Mars Hill, and home-schooled, their parents will be able to get a tax credit?”
“Why won’t President Obama say that it is unconstitutional to kill an American citizen on American soil without due process? Think about it.”
“I guess by now everybody that reads the paper knows that our good Secretary of State Kerry has decided to give Egypt $250 million in foreign aid to support their military. Now, we’re talking about the sequester cutting back our military and all these terrible things the president saying is going to happen because we don’t have the money, but yet we have the money to give Egypt $250 million in aid?”
“The banks want to loan big money. They don’t want to be bothered with loans that are less than their big expectations. Hey, nobody wants a stream of applications. Mostly they want appointments only.”
